Wasabi Wallet 2.3 Released with Enhanced CoinJoin Privacy
Published: 2026-03-06 · ← Back to News
The Wasabi Wallet team has released version 2.3, incorporating improvements to the WabiSabi CoinJoin protocol that increase anonymity set sizes and reduce the effectiveness of post-mix chain analysis heuristics. The update is relevant for Bitcoin users seeking to improve transaction privacy before conducting darknet market transactions.
Version 2.3 introduces improved UTXO selection logic that reduces coin consolidation fingerprinting, enhanced fee management for more reliable mix completion, and updated coordinator code supporting larger batch sizes. The built-in Tor routing has also been updated to use current Tor Browser circuit parameters.
Users are reminded that even post-Wasabi CoinJoin BTC transactions carry residual chain analysis risk compared to Monero. For the highest privacy guarantee, converting BTC to XMR via a non-KYC swap service remains the recommended approach for darknet market transactions. See the BTC privacy guide for detailed workflow recommendations.
